Guillaume Adjutor Provost holds a Ph.D. in Arts Studies and Practices (UQAM). His research focuses on the notion of curatorial art, namely the use of curatorial approaches as a mode of creation. His recent projects put forward hybrid proposals that borrow from the languages of visual arts, curatorship and literature. Through a certain indeterminism of forms, the production of Guillaume Adjutor Provost explores the manifestations of the unconscious, the notion of use and the construction of ideals. More specifically, it is about the periphery of what makes history: the counterculture, personal archives, queer theories and science fiction. Concretely, the medium that he mainly use is the installation, to which is linked a joint production of sculptural, photographic, video and graphic works. Adjutor Provost does not see the exhibition as an end, but rather as a space for experimentation, collaboration, critical reflection and self-determination.

Recipient of grants from the Conseil des Arts et des Lettres du Québec, the Canada Council for the Arts, the OJIQ, Sodec, the Jean-Claude Rochefort contemporary art scholarship, and the Claudine and Stephen Bronfman Prize in Art contemporary, the work of Guillaume Adjutor Provost has been shown in solo and group exhibitions in Canada, France, Germany, Austria, Catalonia, Belgium and Switzerland. Since 2016, he has benefited from a studio at the Darling Foundry as part of the Montreal residency program.
