Massimo Guerrera is a multidisciplinary artist living and working in Montreal. He uses various media such as drawing, writing, photography, installation, and performance to highlight the fertile space of the encounter and its inner shifts. His approach focuses on the sensitive oscillations of our relationships. Those that govern the openings and closings of our body, speech, and mind, as we connect with others and our subtle environments. These questions are rooted in a daily practice, linked and nourished by a meditative practice. They are embodied in a series of long-term projects, articulated around these oscillations of consciousness and its different modes of writing.

His artworks have been featured in several solo exhibitions, including at The Invisible Dog Art Center, New York (2013), Fonderie Darling, Montreal (2008), and Dunlop Art Gallery, Regina, Saskatchewan (2007). His work has been included in group exhibitions for Mois de la Photo de Montréal (2011); La Triennale québécoise, Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal (2010); Liverpool Biennial, Liverpool (2010). Massimo Guerrera’s work can be found in numerous corporate and private collections in Canada, the United States, France, Italy, Switzerland, and Brazil. In Canada, they are in the National Gallery of Canada, the Musée National des beaux-arts du Québec, the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, the Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal, the Art Bank of Canada, as well as the Caisse Desjardins, Hydro Québec and the collections of Loto Québec and Giverny Capital. Guerrera won the Prix Ozias-Leduc in 2001 and the Prix Louis-Comtois in 2008, and was a finalist for the Sobey Art Award in 2004.
