Dominique Sirois holds a degree in visual arts from UQAM (Maîtrise, 2010). Originally from Montreal, her work takes the form of multidisciplinary installations. This practice takes the form of exhibition installations featuring sculptures, ceramics and image prints. Between artisanal and conceptual production, Sirois’ installations unfold narrative spaces using economic, archaeological, mythological, technological and mineralogical referents.

In recent projects, the artist reflects on the dual use of chemical elements in industry and in ceramic oxides (Alliance #14, at Phi Phi and Kobold pour cobalt, Galerie de L’UQAM). Sirois also focuses on the representation of the female body in sculpture, working in relation to the myth of Danae. This story is the driving force behind multi-dimensional reflections on energy (economic, sexual and solar), giving way to a number of different creations. A first phase of creation was presented at Laroche-Joncas in 2021, followed by a sequel at DRAC in Drummondville in 2022. Sirois’ projects have been shown in several artist-run centers across Canada, including Clark (Montreal), AXENÉO 7 (Gatineau) and Latitude 53 (Edmonton). She has also exhibited in private galleries such as Blouin-Division and Bradley-Ertaskiran. The artist has completed several residencies outside of Quebec, including in Glasgow, Paris, Barcelona and Banff. In group and collaborative exhibitions, Sirois has presented her work at the Ludwig Museum in Budapest, Le Commun in Geneva, MOCA in Taipei, the Unicorn Center for Arts in Beijing, and IMAL in Brussels.
