Vicky Sabourin holds a Master’s degree in Visual Arts from Concordia University (Montreal). Her multidisciplinary eco-feminist practice unfolds through immersive and performative installations. Death, mourning and other traumatic events form the genesis of her work’s narrative framework, in which she addresses the relationships between humans, nature and species. Her multi-disciplinary works (sculptural, photographic, textual, olfactory) support and complicate multi-sensory exploration and enhance an intimate, visceral and embodied experience. Her work has been presented in galleries, museums and artist-run centers in Canada, the United States, Europe and India. She has received grants from the CALQ and the Canada Council for the Arts. Vicky Sabourin teaches photography and sculpture at Concordia University.
