Mathieu Beauséjour is among the artists of his generation who pursue a fundamental critical reflection on the systems of political, social and cultural power. He has been presenting his installations, interventions and images since the mid-1990s. His work has been presented in Canada, Europe and the Americas in artist-run centers, public and private galleries, events, biennales and museums. He has received numerous grants, was a finalist for the Sobey’s Art Award in 2008 and won the Giverny Capitale Award in 2010 in Montreal. Mathieu Beauséjour’s most recent solo exhibitions were presented at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, the Musée d’art contemporain des Laurentides and the Antoine Ertaskiran Gallery. Mathieu Beauséjour is represented by Bradley Ertaskiran, Montreal. He teaches visual arts at Cégep du Vieux-Montréal.
